The main focus of this program is to increase awareness about child sexual abuse and it really gain my interest because there are not many programs that talk about this issues. I joined this program to know more about this issue in Malaysia and I would like to create a bond with my friends as I know we will have fun while doing the explorace. In addition to that, around that time, i had been busy handling other programs that made me unable to engage in activities that produce sweat as i had been sitting in front of the laptop all day so i believe i can let out sweat a little bit and become more active.
During the program, I learned that communication skills are really being the center of the attributes that are being focused on. As I had to play explorace with my group members, communication is really important so that we are able to communicate effectively to complete all the games. The games in the explorace also require me to have a good communication skill to be able to complete the games.
In addition, the program also focused on thinking skills. Even though it is a game, it requires critical thinking skills. To win the explorace, my team and I will have to win all the games as fast as possible and to achieve that we need to use our thinking skills. Most of the games are related to our studies so I have to think back on all the content of the courses that I had enroll in order to win the games. Besides, it also focused on leadership and teamworking skills. As the explorace was conducted by group, I had to work well with them to win the game. My group members consist of students from different years, so it really brings out the team working skills in me.
In the programs, it starts with a talk regarding child abuse by a counsellor and after the talk session ends, explorace started. We are being separated into groups to play the explorace. The explore include games that can bring awareness tu us regarding the child sexual abuse. There are around 6 checkpoints and I have to complete all the checkpoints to win the explorace. After the completion of each checkpoint, the committee will justify the reason why we played that game and gave conclusion that related to the child sexual abuse.
